York-Day #1

There isn't much to say about our first day in York.  We needed a rest and it was raining, so Tim went to work and the kids and I hung out in our room reading, playing games, and watching movies.  The only thing that is noteworthy of this day was the fact this was the first day the kids tried a "Fluffer-Nutter" sandwich for lunch.  It got rave reviews and has been consumed for at least two other lunches since then.  Tim got back from work, we moved to our new digs, and went out for a nice Italian dinner together.
We did have something really cool happen right after our dinner, however.  The kids were growing restless so I was packing up in order to take them outside while Tim settled our bill.  While I was doing that, a very kind, elderly woman who was even shorter than my mother-in-law came over to our table and told me how entertained she was by watching our children eat their meal.  She was highly complimentary regarding their behavior and wanted me to know how it was refreshing to see young people acting properly while out in public.  Now, as a mom, this was such an encouragement!  We have been eating out with the kids for at least one meal a day for the past 2 1/2 weeks and each one requires a certain amount of energy and attention to ensure things don't run amuck for you or for the other people in the restaurant.  It is exhausting, but to have a total stranger come over and acknowledge not only your efforts, but those of your children, well it was a blessing to say the least!
